Ghetto Aid - A Special Event at Junkie's

Prompted by recent rumblings, and sensing the air of quiet desperation that envelopes Corktowners' lives like a newspaper around a dead fish, the soon-to-open Junkie's hosted a very special event - Ghetto Aid - with a Very Special Guy, last night . We were lucky enough to be permitted to record part of this stirring event.

"We're committed to the community, and it's in everyone's interest to realize that despite the hordes of thugs cruising our streets amidst the pulsing beat of metronomes, Corktown's a great place to live and work" said Junkie's rep (the constantly quoted) Alan Smithee.

Junkie's joins a number of other concerned organizations, including, among others, Ritchie's, the Toronto Dominion Bank, SAS, Jamie Kennedy, Brad Lamb, Shopper's Drug Mart, Up Country, Studio B, Weezie's and Streetcar Developments, who have invested in Corktown, at considerable risk, to help raise our little ghetto from its Morass of Despair.
