The Case of the Narcoleptic Neighbourhood

For some time now, our fields here at FWIS have lain fallow, as we've pursued pursuits that have frequently found us frolicking fulsomely outside the boundaries of our little Duchy-by-the-Don.

And, faithful readers, there hasn't been much to comment on about Doings in the Duchy, seeing that on the overall, there hasn't been much doing, other than the occasional moan emanating from the heritage deprived areas of King-by-the-Don.

And there, as Corktown Bubbles might say, is the rub. In our travels to The Other King (and Queen) west of Yonge, we've seen something that's missing from our little neck of the woods: Signs of Life. Why, One can walk down King or Queen here at any time of day or night, and see little more than the occasional wanderer. Or perhaps a goose, if you're anticipating the substance - or lack thereof -  of any directors' reports we hear tonight. We're particularly interested in the current Parliament's comments around: (continued...) »

Comeback Unlikely

As we reflect on the past year, a little belatedly, our thoughts turn to the Duchy, and recent related discussions on the now long-relocated e-list regarding past performance and future potential for our Parliament.

While some might make biblical comparisons - perhaps Lazarus rising from the dead - those of us here in The Land of One are more inclined to draw metaphorical links with the iife of the Great Entertainer and Mom, Ms. Britney Spears, who appears to be sinking ike the Titanic, and, like a squirrel in the fall, getting nuttier by the minute. (continued...) »
