Corktown Bubbles Squares Off Against Catechismic Events in the Duchy

Hell hath no fury...they say, and while Corktown Bubbles, our resident slattern, hasn't been spurned, she's doing a slow burn of late. It seems she feels she'll be facing some stiff competition, so to speak, as a result of a recent separate school board decision to permit vaccination of local young Catholic girls for HPV.

Local denizens may recall that more enlightened members of separate school boards in and around the Duchy were concerned that adninistration of this treatment to our young girls would result in eruptions of lust and wanton adolescent sex. Drawing comparisons to uncontrollabe public drunkenness - the scourge of Québec - stemming from sale of alcohol in local dépanneurs - one local scion rumbled "Thighs will part like the Red Sea."

"Who is this "Papilloma" guy - lemme talk to him!" squealed the Hogtown Harlot on a recent Sunday outside St. Paul's, "He sounds like someone from the Vatican to me, and you know, you can count on  a man in a dress to skirt the issues."

Whither the Parliament of the Duchy?

Inquiring minds want to know where members of the CRBA - our reigning parliament in the Duchy - were when the newest park reno - on the island at Trintiy and Eastern - opened yesterday. Like the previous event at Percy Street, it appears they donned their Cloaks of Invisibility for this one.

Despite some fanfare and a pre-opening flyer distributed in the area, relatively few local denizens turned up for the occasion. Councillor McConnell was there, however, and we can imagine she'll occupy considerable time in the eventual broadcast of this event next year on HGTV. Good free publicity considering the reno was pad for completely by private/advertiser contributions, we understand.

Come to think of it, these same inquiring minds are wondering what's up over at the parliament, or if it still exists, given the recent exodus of Duchy parliamentarians, gradual declne of their flagship website (more like cobwebsite, we say), and recent questions about CRBA activity on the CPLC.....

A Plug for the Pug

If you're like us here at FWIS Head Office, you probably have opinions about the state of development and architecture here in Hogtown.

That's why we were pleased to happen upon an insert in this morning's Toronto Star promoting the The Pugs, a recognition of all that stinks and smells like a rose about developments in our fair town.

You can visit their site by clicking here, and voting for your selections for the Halls of Fame and Shame. We found that Firefox didn't like the process all that much, so you might want to consider a different browser. (continued...) »
